Han Huisman

Han Huisman -

I was born and studied in Amsterdam The Netherlands and got a PhD in Molecular Biology and Immunology from the University of Amsterdam. I have been working on the Viro-Immunological aspects of the AIDS virus. In 2001 I moved to the United States of America, working as a neuroscientist and living in Wisconsin.

Performing art is for me a personal activity that entails responses to my career as a scientist. By the way, my education in art is little.
I ask myself, how art can be relevant to anyone else and are there boundaries when you call it ‘not art’ anymore.
My aim is to show others what I see, not precisely what I saw.
I make paintings, mixed media objects and (neo-DADA) sculptures and installations and all are manifest of my creative work.
Searching for associations and relationships in using different artifacts, antique subjects, my collections of hoarding materials and technologies are my goals.
When I see that unrelated subjects fits together, I move on to completion.
Join me.
